In the 1932 film Blonde Venus, Marlene Dietrich portrays a woman who is caught between two different roles: that of a dedicated, loving wife and mother, and that of a sultry cabaret singer who is marked by brazen eroticism. Cary Grant’s appearance in this film was his first step to stardom.
