Title

The Łódź-Kaliska Train Station

Description

The Łódź-Kaliska Train Station was built in the beginning of the 20th century, about 3 kilometers from the center of the city. The art nouveau building, designed by Czesław Domaniewski and Jan Heurich became one of the most beautiful emblems of Łódź. The staircase in the front of the building gave it a monumental character. A distinctive ramp lead into the station. Art nouveau details could be found in the building and railway platforms. This train station is featured in the interwar-period film "I Lied"("Skłamałam”) (1937).
